The
range maps for the species listed below were generated from data collected by volunteers
during the Texas Breeding Bird Atlas Project. Fieldwork for the TBBA Project began in
March of 1987 and continued through February 1992. Breeding records prior to this period
were not used in map generation, nor were subsequent records added. These distribution
maps are "snapshots" of the bird species found to breed in Texas, 1987-1992. We
are working through the 92,000 records that were collected to correct a small number of
data entry errors that could appear in the range maps. Until this process is complete,
please interpret these maps with caution.
